I have the same issue - have you managed to work it out?

#2 Re: Debug » Mojave error trying to make NetBoot set » 2018-12-27 09:25:47

So there is no way to create a Bootset using 10.14.1 by using Deploystudio to create the bootset?

Hi Guys

I have Deploy Studio 1.7.8 running on 10.13.6 with Server 5.4 which still has Netinstall
I can place an NBI file into the NetBootSP0 folder and can boot from it but
as soon as I put in one or more NBI files I see yellow exclamation marks next to each image and when
I NetBoot I can only see the Default Bootset and none of the others

Has anyone had and managed to solve this issue at all?

#4 Re: Usage » Disabling Version Mismatch Alerts » 2017-08-30 12:32:37

When you say update the .NBI - does this mean recreating it or will it be automatically updated when you upgrade to 1.7.7 (DeployStudio Server installer updates automatically compatible DeployStudio NetBoot sets found on the local disks. If none of your NetBoot sets are compatible, you’ll need to create a new one using the DeployStudio Assistant application shipped with the release you have installed.)

Winclone: 5.7.6 Pro
iMacs: iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, Late 2015), Model Identifier: iMac16,2, Number: MK452XX/A

I will go through your report and see how I go

I have created Package to install

When I select the Workflow, and then select the Package Install Icon it shows me the Automate Check Box is no longer Checked.

If I check it and save, then go to another WorkFlow and come back, the check box is unchecked

Has anyone had this happen to them?

Can anybody confirm if they have managed to get the following working.

A Master which is a WinClone Image that they can push to a 2016 iMac or MacBook using Deploy Studio

Not a WinClone Package installer!!

#9 Re: Usage » Imaging Late 2016 MacBook Pros » 2016-11-24 07:43:30

I have been doing this successfully.

It works either on wifi or you need an APPLE USB C to USB Adatptor and then connect to an APPLE USB to Ethernet Adaptor
It is very important for now that these adaptors/dongles are APPLE branded as the firmware on the newer Macbooks doesnt pick up
other brands

#10 Re: Usage » Cannot deploy to "New" MacBook 12" Model A1534 » 2016-08-02 06:42:59

We think the network connection is the problem
It wont see the NBI correctly over wifi

We have an ordered an APPLE USB to Ethernet Converter which we will connect to our APPLE USB C to USB Connector
We have spoken to our local apple supplier and they tell me that when you boot into firmware only APPLE certified dongles work
and not third party

Im hoping to have the dongle later today so I can test and put this issue to bed!!!

#11 Re: Usage » Deploying winclone images hang on waiting for pigz with 10.11 NBI » 2016-07-26 11:48:10

I installed a fresh Server using OS X 10.9.5
I installed Winclone 4.4

Created a new Master Boot Set

I can now deploy my Bootcamp created with Winclone 100%

I have a 2015/16 MacBook 12" Model A1534 (http://www.apple.com/macbook/)

I turn the unit on and hold down the alt key until all the boot options show.
I select any of my Boot Sets. I immediately see the Spinning Globe which tells me the system
is booting of a network device:

This spins for a while as per normal and then I get the Prohibitory symbol (Mac couldn't find a valid System Folder to start up from)

Has anybody successfully created a Boot Set with one of these MacBooks and Deployed an image to one of these machines

I have installed 10.10 on this unit, created a Boot Set and it does not work
I have installed 10.11 on this unit, created a Boot Set and it does not work

If anybody has done this or can steer me in the right direction any help will be much appreciated

Is there a limit to the number of Boot Sets you can have at any one time.

I have had two for a while now and today I added a third and all of a sudden all of them had Yellow Triangles next them in Netinstall in the Server?

I have deploystudio set up and running on a MacPro
It has been working since December 2015.
As of last week friday when you set a machine to boot up and see the images available for use, where the images used to populate instantly they now take anywhere
from 5 - 15min to appear.

Once you select an image the machine either freezes and needs to be rebooted or it just boots normally off the HDD

We have made no changes to the server or the network
If anyone has any clues/hints/solutions to this please let me know

These kinds of errors occur for no well understood reason (not that I've found, anyway).
Historically, if you can't fix it with Disk Utility's First Aid, determine if the file is something you really need, and if not, delete it from your master.
There is no guarantee you won't see a different file flagged on your next pass at capture, so be prepared to perform the file necessity evaluation, and deletion, a few times.

If you aren't specifically saving Address Book/Contacts data in your image, you could just delete the "com.apple.AddressBook.ContactsAccountsService" folder.
It should get recreated if it is missing when the admin account user requires it. (maybe?)

#19 Re: Usage » Master Creation Failure » 2016-03-09 06:58:37

Thanks for that
I will give it a try

We have created a default profile (Replaced the English.lproj with a customised one) so there doesnt need to be any "data"(Contacts etc) saved in the image

#20 Re: Usage » Master Creation Failure » 2016-03-08 10:06:48

I have tried making an image again of a different machine and the same is still happening.
Could this be something Server side as opposed to something on the source machine causing the problem?

#21 Re: Usage » Master Creation Failure » 2016-03-04 11:11:32

There definately not two drives
I have made all of my masters of the same machine

I have just erased and partitioned the drive again (1 Partition) and am busy with a fresh install

I am going to try again - i also tried restoring an image to this machine but it got stuck on "Blessing" for about 20min

I have just setup Deploy Studio Server. I have managed to create 3 Master images so far.
Now while trying to create a 4th it fails everytime. From looking at the logfile it seems to be starting off reading from "'/Volumes/Mac HDD'" and the error occurs when it suddenly tries to read from "'/Volumes/Mac HDD _1". Has anyone experienced this and knows how to solve the issue?
